Grojsman Accord
Plush rose, damascone warmth and a glowing musk-wood halo the signature Sophia Grojsman over-dose style.
At its core, the classic Grojsman accord is built from just four materials — Hedione (4), Iso E Super (3), Galaxolide (2) and Methyl Ionone Gamma (1). Everything else is a refinement on top of that base. The 'Grojsman accord' is the unofficial name perfumers use for the signature structure behind Sophia Grojsman's modern classics Trésor, Paris, White Linen, SpellBound. It is built on an overdose of Hedione, generous Iso E Super, plush rose materials and a damascone-ionone heart that creates an unmistakable radiant, almost edible rosy glow. Studying this accord is one of the most important exercises in modern perfumery: it teaches how a handful of well chosen molecules can carry an entire bestselling perfume formula.

Tips & variations
- ·Hedione is the heart of the technique never go below 30%. It turns the rose plush and gives the accord its famous diffusion.
- ·Damascones are extremely powerful work pre-diluted at 10% and stay around 0.3 to 0.7% of the absolute composition.
- ·Try replacing part of Galaxolide with Habanolide for a more transparent, modern Grojsman feel; keep Iso E Super high for radiance.

Frequently asked
Who is Sophia Grojsman?
One of the most influential perfumers of the late 20th century, known for Trésor, Paris (YSL), White Linen, Eternity and SpellBound. Her signature is a luminous, plush rose built on Hedione, Iso E Super, ionones and damascones a structure now widely called the Grojsman accord.
Why is the damascone dose so small?
Damascones are detectable in parts per billion. Above roughly one percent of the final composition they take over the entire perfume and turn aggressive. The Grojsman trick is using just enough to make the rose glow.
Can I build a finished perfume on top of this?
Yes. Use 30 to 50% of this accord in a larger formula, add a citrus bergamot opening and a soft amber or sandal base, and you have the skeleton of an entire family of modern rose perfumes.
