Short profile

A forceful herbal oil in which clove-like warmth and anise sweetness give basil a distinctly spicy character. Green freshness and peppery accents counterbalance the sweeter facets, with greater aromatic intensity than the Egyptian linalool type. The supplier describes moderate persistence over hours, but does not document separate opening, heart or dry-down stages. Projection and the precise evolution on a blotter are likewise unspecified.

Effect in a formula

Provides an assertive herbal-spice accent, with sweet anise and green peppery contrasts. It adds lift to citrus and fougère structures and supports Mediterranean-themed compositions. The supplier also recommends it for chypres and herbal accords, including spicy-fresh effects alongside lavender.

Use and dosage

The supplier gives 0.1–1% of the fragrance concentrate as a typical range for fougère, chypre, herbal, citrus and Mediterranean compositions. A separate laboratory note specifies 0.1–2% in the finished fragrance; this uses a different basis and should not be treated as a concentrate range. These are formulation recommendations, not IFRA limits.

No confirmed manufacturer use level for this exact product.

Appearance
Liquid with a pale yellow colour.
Practical tip: For smelling trials, start at 1% to assess this powerful oil rather than evaluating it neat. Keep stored material protected from light in a cool location.
