Short profile
A lightly terpenic brightness introduces a predominantly earthy, root-like character. The main body combines dry woodiness and carrot-root nuances with a powdery impression reminiscent of orris, softened by warmth and restrained sweetness. A subtle spicy shading adds depth to the soil-like character. Its lasting base-note contribution retains the emphasis on roots and powder; the supplier provides no measured projection or timed blotter-development observations.
Effect in a formula
Adds persistent earthy depth and a powdery root character to the base, connecting vegetal elements with orris-like effects. It offers an economical way to supply part of an orris impression rather than a complete replacement for orris. Particularly useful in chypre compositions and iris, soil or woody accords, including an earthy supporting role beneath violet.
Use and dosage
The supplier gives 0.1–1% of the fragrance concentrate as the usual formulation range, particularly for orris, chypre and earthy structures. A separate laboratory note mentions 0.1–2% in the finished fragrance; this is a different stated basis and should not be treated as a concentrate range. Excessive dosing can make the composition overtly vegetal. These figures are formulation guidance, not IFRA limits.

Behaviour and performance
- Tenacity
- Described as a persistent base material, with a broad duration of many hours through days. No blotter-specific measurement, evaluation dilution or testing conditions are supplied.
Diffusion, tenacity and note impact are not combined into a single performance score.
Dissolving and diluting
- Solvents
- Reported to produce clear solutions in ethanol, DPG and IPM. Some colour contribution remains possible despite the solution being clear.
- Working dilution
- Use a 10% ethanol stock for routine working purposes and a 1% dilution for olfactory evaluation. The page also lists DPG and IPM as compatible dilution solvents.
