Short profile

The principal impression is leafy green and herbaceous, with a rounded character rather than the biting edge associated with cis-3-Hexenol. A subdued fruity sweetness and balsamic cushioning give the foliage impression depth, suggesting damp leaves rather than newly cut grass. Slight floral shading accompanies this green character, which the supplier places mainly in the heart and base. The page rates both odour strength and presence in mixtures at 5/10; it does not provide a timed blotter study or a measured projection assessment.

Effect in a formula

It extends a leafy dimension into the heart and base of floral compositions, rather than restricting the green effect to the opening. In jasmine and tuberose accords, it contributes a stem-like aspect. In green chypres, it helps connect the initial vegetal notes with the mossy foundation.

Use and dosage

The supplier gives 0.5–5% of the fragrance concentrate as the usual formulation range, describing dose adjustment as more forgiving than with cis-3-Hexenol. A separate recommendation of 0.1–2% refers to the finished fragrance, not the concentrate. These are formulation guidelines, not IFRA limits.

No confirmed manufacturer use level for this exact product.

Behaviour and performance

Tenacity
The page gives a qualitative persistence rating of medium, on an hours scale, while also describing substantive heart-to-base performance. Its longevity assessment is estimated from volatility; no measured blotter duration or test conditions are supplied.

Diffusion, tenacity and note impact are not combined into a single performance score.

Dissolving and diluting

Solvents
Ethanol, dipropylene glycol (DPG) and isopropyl myristate (IPM) are reported to produce clear solutions readily. The material is water-insoluble; the technical description also lists solubility in fats, oils and organic solvents.
Working dilution
Use a 10% stock in ethanol for formulation work, following the supplier's working-dilution setting. For olfactory assessment, the page recommends reducing the concentration to 1%; ethanol is a listed compatible solvent.
Appearance
Liquid, ranging from colourless to a faint yellow tint.
Practical tip: Assess at 1% to judge the green-balsamic balance without evaluating the strong neat material. Keep the container tightly closed in cool storage. Strongly alkaline formulations warrant attention because the ester is susceptible to hydrolysis under those conditions.
