Short profile
The opening is strongly terpenic, combining resinous pine wood with a modest citrus sweetness. Bark, sap and woodland-earth nuances are more prominent than a needle-like character, with a dry, astringent texture when evaluated alone. Peppery and turpentine-like accents add definition to the woody impression. Its contribution is concentrated in the opening and fades rapidly; the supplier does not describe a distinct heart or dry-down evolution on blotter.
Effect in a formula
Adds a dry, resin-led freshness to the opening, with a restrained citrus inflection, reinforcing terpenic notes without excessive sharpness. It helps establish convincing pine and juniper identities in woodland compositions, and is also suited to fougères, colognes and functional fragrances.
Use and dosage
The supplier gives 0.5–5% of the fragrance concentrate as a typical formulation range for woodland, pine and juniper themes, fougères and functional applications. This is use guidance, not an IFRA limit.
No confirmed manufacturer use level for this exact product.
Behaviour and performance
- Tenacity
- Described as a short-lived opening material, with an indicative contribution from the first minutes to roughly one hour. This is a volatility-based estimate, not a reported timed blotter test.
Diffusion, tenacity and note impact are not combined into a single performance score.
Good areas of use
Dissolving and diluting
- Solvents
- Ethanol and isopropyl myristate (IPM) give clear solutions, whereas DPG offers only limited solvency. Water does not dissolve the material, and water-containing alcohol can become cloudy immediately.
- Working dilution
- Use a 10% ethanol dilution for olfactory evaluation. The supplier also lists undiluted material or a 10% dilution as working options.
- Appearance
- A colourless liquid of low viscosity.
