Short profile

A fir-centred base with a pronounced green, coniferous opening reminiscent of cut needles and branches. As it develops, the sharper forest freshness gives way to a softer resinous character with gentle sweetness. Its lasting character is warm and balsamic, with a rounded rather than purely needle-oil texture. The supplier describes substantial persistence but provides no controlled blotter evolution or projection measurements.

Effect in a formula

Provides both a fresh conifer impression and a warm resinous foundation, linking green opening notes to the balsamic base. The supplier reports greater persistence than a straight conifer needle oil. Its principal applications are woody-balsamic and spicy fragrances, winter forest themes and home fragrance.

Use and dosage

The supplier gives 1–10% of the fragrance concentrate as a typical range for woody-balsamic, spicy and winter-themed compositions. A separate recommendation of 0.5–5% refers to the finished fragrance, not the concentrate. These are formulation guidelines, not IFRA limits.

No confirmed manufacturer use level for this exact product.

Behaviour and performance

Tenacity
Supplier-described persistence extends from many hours into days, with a lasting base-note role. No blotter substrate, evaluation dilution or timed test protocol is specified.

Diffusion, tenacity and note impact are not combined into a single performance score.

Dissolving and diluting

Solvents
Reported to form clear solutions in ethanol, dipropylene glycol (DPG) and isopropyl myristate (IPM).
Working dilution
Use a 10% ethanol solution as the listed working dilution; for smelling evaluation, the supplier recommends reducing the concentration to 1%.
Appearance
Liquid, ranging from colourless to a faint yellow.
Practical tip: Assess at 1% because the base has considerable odour strength. Store away from light in a cool location.
