Short profile

This molecule delivers a distinctly sweet, floral aroma centered on unmistakable orange blossom and concord grape character. Alongside its prominent neroli facets, it carries a delicate medicinal nuance and a dry, almost powdery undertone. Functioning predominantly from the top into the heart, it provides a persistent and characteristic fruity-floral impression.

Effect in a formula

It provides crucial floral realism to neroli and orange flower constructions while adding body and richness to heavier white florals like tuberose and jasmine. Additionally, it introduces an authentic grape dimension into fruity blends.

Behaviour and performance

Tenacity
Exhibits medium substantivity, remaining detectable on a smelling strip for approximately 88 hours.

Diffusion, tenacity and note impact are not combined into a single performance score.

Dissolving and diluting

Solvents
Readily soluble in perfumery alcohol (ethanol), dipropylene glycol (DPG), and isopropyl myristate (IPM).
Practical tip: Because its primary amino group readily condenses with aldehydes such as citral or hydroxycitronellal to form intensely colored yellow-to-orange Schiff bases, store it separately and exercise caution when blending. Note that the neat material has a melting threshold around 24 °C and may crystallize.
