Short profile
A powerful roasted profile brings together bread crust, nuts and an earthy cocoa character. Coffee and toasted cereal nuances broaden the impression, with a potato-like undertone. Its texture is dry and savoury rather than sweet. The supplier describes an early, volatile contribution but provides no staged blotter observations establishing heart development, dry-down or projection.
Effect in a formula
Adds convincing roast character to bread, coffee and cocoa accords, supplying a savoury counterweight to sweet gourmand materials. It introduces earthy detail into tobacco and leather compositions. At trace dosage, it can also lend a food-associated warmth to woody structures.
Use and dosage
The supplier places typical final levels well below 0.05% in the fragrance concentrate and advises further dilution of the supplied 10% stock before dosing. Increase only in very small increments: excessive dosage can dominate the composition with a burnt-coffee impression. Separately, the page gives 0.01–0.3% of the supplied solution in finished fragrance; this is not a concentrate dosage. These are formulation guidelines, not IFRA limits.

Dissolving and diluting
- Solvents
- The supplied ethanol stock forms clear mixtures with additional ethanol or DPG. Oil-based mixtures are reported to separate because of the alcohol carrier. The underlying raw material is listed as soluble in water and organic solvents; this does not establish oil compatibility for the supplied stock.
- Working dilution
- Use ethanol to reduce the supplied 10% solution to a 1% working strength for compounding; the supplier recommends 0.1% for smelling evaluation. DPG is also listed as a compatible dilution solvent.
- Appearance
- Liquid ethanol solution at 10%, ranging from colourless to yellowish.
