Short profile

The opening combines mandarin-like brightness with peppery terpene notes and fresh resin. Pine nuances and a cool, mineral impression distinguish its incense character from the heavier smell of burning frankincense. Its main contribution lies in the top and heart, with a lighter, more volatile character than the resinoid. A dry balsamic undertone becomes more apparent after several hours. The supplier does not give a blotter-specific development study or a projection measurement.

Effect in a formula

Provides top-to-heart lift through a combination of citrus brightness, pepper and fresh incense, rather than the weight associated with olibanum resinoid. It brings definition to amber and resin compositions and suits fresh woody structures. In cologne formulations it supplies a resinous citrus accent; pairing it with the resinoid adds a complementary base beneath its more volatile contribution.

Use and dosage

The supplier suggests 1–10% of the fragrance formulation, with higher proportions possible in resin-led, incense and amber compositions. Elsewhere the page assigns the same range to finished perfume, so a concentrate-only basis is not consistently specified. These are formulation suggestions, not IFRA limits; no numerical guidance is supplied for trace use or higher-dose applications.

No confirmed manufacturer use level for this exact product.

Behaviour and performance

Tenacity
Described as moderately persistent, retaining its character over hours. No numerical blotter lifetime, evaluation dilution or test conditions are reported.

Diffusion, tenacity and note impact are not combined into a single performance score.

Dissolving and diluting

Solvents
Produces clear solutions in ethanol, DPG and IPM. Water-containing alcohol can cause cloudiness; the supplier gives no water-tolerance threshold.
Working dilution
For compounding, the supplier allows neat use or a 10% working solution; 10% is also the suggested strength for smelling. Ethanol is the primary listed solvent, with DPG and IPM also identified as suitable.
Appearance
Liquid, ranging from colourless to pale yellow.
Practical tip: Limit air exposure by keeping containers well filled, and store away from light in a cool location. Oxidation of this terpene-rich oil can shift its odour towards turpentine.
