Short profile

The aroma presents a profound, cool violet and traditional orris rhizome character from the onset, marked by a powdery and velvety skin-like texture. As it settles, it displays a creamy, buttery core accompanied by nuanced dry woody facets. In the deeper dry-down, delicate undertones of sweet honey and mild cured tobacco emerge, completely devoid of dusty dryness.

Effect in a formula

This material breathes natural depth into synthetic ionone accords, removing chemical flatness from powdery blends while imparting a sleek, velvety touch to woody notes. It provides substantial fixative power, bringing morning-dew freshness to classic rose bouquets and behaving like a plush lining within leather or tobacco architectures.

Use and dosage

Use of the 10% solution is suggested between 0.5% and 5% in the fragrance concentrate, which equates to 0.05% to 0.5% of pure butter. An addition of 0.5% delivers fixation, base-note radiance, and a cooling nuance, whereas dosages approaching 2% or higher place orris in the focal theme.

Dissolving and diluting

Solvents
Offered prediluted in triethyl citrate (TEC), providing excellent solution stability without the precipitation or cloudiness common to pure butter in cold alcohol. It dissolves smoothly into ethanol and blends readily into oil-based mediums.
Practical tip: The prediluted material remains transparent in ethanol, but when incorporating into cold oil preparations, gently agitate and warm with your hands. Preserve quality by storing in a tightly sealed vessel, shielded from light in a cool environment.
