Short profile
Oud, dry woody, resinous, balsamic sweet, smoky, leathery, phenolic and mildly animalic odor profile.
Effect in a formula
Provides a substantial woody-resinous foundation with a dark tonal emphasis and a fixative role. It can anchor oud-led compositions or introduce an ambery oud inflection at smaller proportions. Rose accords benefit from its oud contrast, while leather and spice structures gain a cohesive resinous warmth; woody and amber compositions are also identified as suitable applications.
Use and dosage
The supplier suggests 1–15% of the fragrance concentrate. A few percent can introduce an oud-amber character into otherwise Western-style structures, whereas oud-focused formulas may use it as a principal foundation. A separate recommendation of 0.5–5% refers to the finished fragrance, not the concentrate. These are formulation recommendations, not IFRA limits.

Behaviour and performance
- Tenacity
- The supplier reports persistence over several days. No blotter-specific duration, evaluation dilution or test conditions are supplied.
Diffusion, tenacity and note impact are not combined into a single performance score.
Dissolving and diluting
- Solvents
- Clear dissolution is reported in TEC, benzyl benzoate and IPM. Ethanol at 96% strength can produce haze, and water-containing alcohol is also flagged for possible cloudiness. For alcoholic formulations, blend the base into the concentrate before introducing the alcohol.
- Working dilution
- Use the supplier's 10% working strength for compounding and 1% strength for initial odour assessment. Listed solvents include TEC, benzyl benzoate, IPM and ethanol; the first three are reported to give clear solutions, while ethanol requires attention to haze. No single solvent is explicitly assigned to the 1% evaluation recommendation.
- Appearance
- Yellowish base with a viscous consistency.
