Orspirane (ACS®)
No stock or price required. Add a batch later only if you want inventory tracking.
Short profile
Minty, woody, fruity and camphoraceous, with fresh herbal character.
Effect in a formula
At low dosage, Orspirane establishes a recognisable tea character in green- and black-tea accords and introduces a dry freshness into tobacco compositions. In floral and fruity structures, it supports diffusion; the supplier particularly describes a more delicate floral effect without an overt Orspirane signature.
Use and dosage
The supplier's concentrate guidance is 0.05–0.5%, for tea and tobacco character or diffusion in floral and fruity compositions. A separate laboratory section gives 0.1–3% in finished fragrance, which is a different dosage basis and should not be treated as a concentrate range. These are formulation recommendations, not IFRA limits.

Behaviour and performance
- Tenacity
- The page reports 47 hours of blotter substantivity, attributed to TGSC; dilution and test conditions are not specified. Other sections describe persistence more broadly as hours or days, so the page does not provide a single consistent duration.
Diffusion, tenacity and note impact are not combined into a single performance score.
Dissolving and diluting
- Solvents
- Reported to dissolve readily to clarity in ethanol, DPG and IPM. The technical table also identifies fat solubility and water insolubility.
- Working dilution
- Use a 10% stock for compounding and a 1% dilution for olfactory assessment. Ethanol is the page's default dilution solvent; DPG and IPM are also listed as suitable solvents.
- Appearance
- Liquid with a colour ranging from colourless to pale yellow.
