Short profile

A forceful anise character dominates, combining pronounced sweetness with liquorice warmth. The opening has a contrasting cool clarity rather than an exclusively warm spice impression. Fennel nuances and a modest woody undertone add detail to the sweet-spicy body. The supplier describes considerable olfactory impact but does not document projection or a timed heart-to-dry-down evolution on blotter.

Effect in a formula

This is a character-setting spice material: its strong anise signature can rapidly become a defining feature of a blend. It supplies warm liquorice sweetness with a clear, non-sugary impression in spicy and amber-oriental structures. The supplier also identifies gourmand compositions, anisic fougères and winter or room fragrances as suitable applications.

Use and dosage

The supplier's usual concentrate range is 0.1–1%, with restrained dosing advised because of the oil's strong character. A separate laboratory note gives 0.1–2% in the finished fragrance; this has a different stated basis and should not be treated as a concentrate recommendation. These are formulation guidelines, not IFRA limits.

No confirmed manufacturer use level for this exact product.

Behaviour and performance

Tenacity
The supplier assigns medium persistence, expressed broadly in hours. No measured blotter duration, evaluation dilution or test conditions are supplied.

Diffusion, tenacity and note impact are not combined into a single performance score.

Dissolving and diluting

Solvents
After gentle warming has restored the liquid state, the oil is reported to form clear solutions in ethanol, DPG and IPM.
Working dilution
Use a 10% stock in ethanol for routine work; the page's dilution-calculator link specifies that combination. For odour evaluation, the supplier recommends 1%; ethanol is the primary listed solvent, with DPG and IPM also available as solvent options.
Appearance
The liquid ranges from colourless to a faint yellow tint. Below approximately 15 °C it solidifies, with anethole crystals forming under cool conditions.
Practical tip: Cool conditions can produce normal anethole crystallisation; gentle warming to hand temperature restores fluidity. Keep the material protected from light in cool storage, and evaluate at 1% to assess its powerful anisic character.
