Short profile

A vetiver-centred woody base softened by powdery orris and a delicate violet character. Cool root-like nuances contrast with dry woods, while a modest floral sweetness rounds the texture. Its overall character is understated, with earthy depth rather than an overtly expansive impression. The supplier positions it as a persistent base-note material but provides no staged blotter observations or measured projection data.

Effect in a formula

Provides a prebalanced connection between powdery orris and dry vetiver, adding depth to subdued woody and floral structures. It can strengthen either an existing vetiver accord or an orris theme, particularly in powder-led fragrances. The prepared base also offers a repeatable starting point for further development with individual ingredients.

Use and dosage

The supplier suggests 2–15% of the fragrance concentrate for powdery themes, woody-floral compositions and reinforcement of vetiver or orris accords. Separately, its laboratory notes give 0.5–5% in the finished fragrance; this is a different dosage basis and should not be treated as a concentrate range. These are formulation recommendations, not IFRA limits.

No confirmed manufacturer use level for this exact product.

Behaviour and performance

Tenacity
Described as a persistent base-note component lasting hours and potentially days. No specific blotter protocol, evaluation dilution or measured duration is supplied.

Diffusion, tenacity and note impact are not combined into a single performance score.

Dissolving and diluting

Solvents
Reported to form clear solutions with ethanol, DPG or IPM.
Working dilution
Use a 10% ethanol stock for routine formulation work; reduce to 1% for olfactory assessment, as recommended for this strong base. DPG and IPM are also listed as suitable solvents.
Appearance
Viscous base with a yellow colour ranging from pale to more pronounced yellow.
Practical tip: Gentle warming to approximately hand temperature can help with handling this viscous base in cold conditions. Assess at 1% rather than neat because of its strength. Allow for possible slight coloration and keep storage cool and protected from light.
