Short profile
A forceful white-pepper character combines spicy sharpness with woody warmth and an earthy undertone. Compared with black pepper, its green and citrus aspects are subdued, while a faint animalic nuance and camphoraceous shading add depth. The CO₂ extract has a rounded, substantial texture reminiscent of ground spice rather than the lighter character of a distilled oil. The supplier positions it for top- and heart-note work, but does not document a timed blotter progression or projection profile.
Effect in a formula
Introduces a warm pepper accent with earthy depth, avoiding some of the green harshness associated with black pepper. It rounds out wood and spice constructions and supplies spicy definition in the opening and heart. Suggested applications include fougère, chypre and leather compositions, as well as masculine woody fragrances built around vetiver.
Use and dosage
The general formulation recommendation is 0.1–3%, particularly for peppery top and heart effects in fougère, chypre and leather work. A separate laboratory note gives 0.1–2% in the finished fragrance; these two stated bases should not be treated as interchangeable concentrate dosages. These are supplier use recommendations, not IFRA limits.
No confirmed manufacturer use level for this exact product.
Behaviour and performance
- Tenacity
- The supplier describes moderate persistence on an hours scale and reports greater staying power than black pepper in the laboratory notes. No numerical blotter lifetime, evaluation dilution or controlled test conditions are supplied.
Diffusion, tenacity and note impact are not combined into a single performance score.
Dissolving and diluting
- Solvents
- Clear solutions are reported with ethanol, dipropylene glycol (DPG) and isopropyl myristate (IPM). Alcohol containing water can produce cloudiness.
- Working dilution
- Use a 10% stock for working purposes and a 1% dilution for olfactory assessment. Ethanol is the primary listed solvent; DPG and IPM are also listed as suitable dilution media.
- Appearance
- Liquid, ranging from uncoloured to a light yellow hue.
