Effect in a formula

Acts as an anchoring foundation that establishes a dry, compact base beneath a fragrance, significantly prolonging tenacity on both skin and fabric. It imparts substantive depth to musk structures, bolsters woody and amber frameworks, and anchors floral developments. It thrives particularly well in modern woody-amber, masculine, leathery, and oud-centric creations.

Use and dosage

Standard compounding incorporates 1% to 10% of this 10% MIP solution into fragrance bases, occasionally reaching up to 20% within amber-dominant themes. In fully finished consumer fragrances, it is often utilized between 0.1% and 3% of the pre-diluted solution. These recommendations pertain strictly to formulating practice and do not represent regulatory safety caps.

Dissolving and diluting

Solvents
Supplied pre-dissolved at 10% concentration in isopropyl myristate (MIP). It readily forms clear, homogeneous solutions upon blending into ethanol, dipropylene glycol (DPG), or IPM.
Appearance
Clear liquid ranging from colourless to pale yellow, formulated as a solution in isopropyl myristate.
Practical tip: Because of its immense strength, slight overdosing can easily impart an unwanted, persistent metallic tinge lasting days; always assess test blotters after at least 24 hours. Dedicate a separate pipette to this raw material and store it isolated from more volatile components to prevent cross-contamination.
